Help your patients understand how their eyes work, how to care for their eyes, their children's eyes, and what tests they may receive during an eye exam.
Voltaren Ophthalmic is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug for treatment of postoperative inflammation in patients who have undergone cataract extraction and for the temporary relief of pain and photophobia in patients undergoing corneal refractive surgery.
Diclofenac sodium, the principal active ingredient of Voltaren Ophthalmic, is a phenylacetic acid that has analgesic and anti-inflammatory activity. It is believed to act through the reversible inhibition of the cyclo-oxygenase enzymes COX-1 and COX-2 that are essential in the biosynthesis of prostaglandins.
